Television shopping channel, QVC UK, has invested in Allied LED lighting for the reception area of its storage facility in Liverpool, helping to reduce its cost and energy output.

The reception area of QVC’s Liverpool facility was previously lit with fluorescent strip lighting, which, over time, had become discoloured and had scorched the surrounding ceiling tiles by over-heating.

As a result, the reception area looked dark, dingy and run-down.

The energy inefficient fluorescent lighting in the reception area at QVC’s Liverpool facility has now been replaced with lights from Allied’s ultra-thin Lucid 24 range, which operate virtually heat-free, require almost no maintenance and use 14w – which amounts to 70% – less energy per fitting.

The results!

The switch from fluorescent tube lighting to Allied’s energy efficient Lucid range represents significant cost and energy savings for QVC.

In addition, the reception area, which looked dull and yellow toned before is now a welcoming space for staff and visitors, and features
natural white lighting for a fresher, healthier look.

QVC are pleased with the results of this LED lighting trial and are currently considering making the transition from fluorescent to LED
lighting in the rest of their facilities.
