What are LED lights?

LED actually stands for Light-Emitting Diode but in practical terms it stands for so much more. LED gives off brighter light, uses less energy and produces less carbon emissions that traditional light. LED can create over 16 million different colours of light, but for office and work use this is limited to 3 main colour temperatures;

  • Warm White, which is the closest light colour to traditional office light
  • Natural White, which is the closest colour to natural daylight
  • Cool White, which is very clinical and creates a rather surgical feel

Some examples of LED use up to 90% less electricity and the average is at least 70%. This is because LED converts more of the energy into light output, it’s more efficient and that’s good for the environment. Changing your old light units to LED is probably the quickest and most simple effective action that your company can take to ‘go green’.
